Votes for Women

Helen Jones has kindly condensed the story of the suffragists, and the progress toward achieving votes for women in the community and in Parliament, from her book In her own name: a history of women in South Australia revised edition (Adelaide, Wakefield Press, 1994) especially for this website. This is an important story in the life of South Australia. The full story can be read in the Bray and Mortlock Libraries.
